Anaheim: Suspect Arrested In Stabbing Death Of Man Found In Field

05.13.2022 | 6:30 PM | ANAHEIM – Detectives arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death of a man who was found in a field, police said.

Rolando Echenique, 36, of Anaheim, was arrested and charged with the murder of 53-year-old Jason Randall Dahl, also of Anaheim.

Police said Echenique was arrested on May 12 after detectives contacted him near the crime scene although they refused to release any additional information regarding the incident.

Dahl was discovered suffering from at least one stab wound in a field by officers responding to reports of a possible body near the intersection of South Phoenix Club Drive and South Sanderson Avenue around 9:20 AM on May 11.

Echenique is being held in the Anaheim Detention Facility in lieu of $1 million bail.

Both Echenique and Dahl were believed to have been homeless in the area.
