Buena Park: Witnesses Sought After Hit & Run Driver Kills Pedestrian

05.03.2022 | 8:00 PM | BUENA PARK – Witnesses are being sought to help police locate a hit-and-run driver that killed a pedestrian, authorities announced Tuesday.

The traffic collision involving a pedestrian was reported at the intersection of Western Avenue and Melrose Street around 9:52 PM on Monday, May 2, 2022.

When police arrived they located a male pedestrian that was later pronounced deceased.

Preliminary reports indicate that a vehicle was traveling southbound on Western Avenue when it stuck the pedestrian at Melrose Street.

The driver and vehicle subsequently fled the scene without waiting for law enforcement to arrive.

Video surveillance and witnesses report the vehicle appeared to be a Toyota SUV that may have been blue.
