03.24.2022 | 11:30 PM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A sex offender who had recently registered a new home address was apprehended the next day on charges that he sexually battered a minor, police announced Thursday.

Scott Robert Moore, 54, of Fountain Valley, was arrested on Mar. 24, 2022 in connection with the sexual battery of a 16-year-old girl just a day after registering a new home address with police.

Due to a previous conviction for rape by force or fear and oral copulation by force or fear in 1991, Moore was required to register his current home addresses with the local police department pursuant to Penal Code Section 290.

As a result Moore registered a new address on Mar. 23 and was met by detectives to conduct a compliance check his newly registered residence. During the check detectives learned of the crime and began investigating. He was arrested the next day.

Moore, who listed his occupation as unemployed, is being held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Anyone with information regarding Moore is encouraged to contact the Fountain Valley Police Department by calling (714) 593-4485.
