Fountain Valley: Third-Alarm Carport Fire Destroys 17+ Vehicles

07.13.2019 | 2:42 AM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A third alarm fire that broke out in a carport destroyed more than 17 cars, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a structure fire at The Havens, an apartment complex located in the 10400 block of Slater Avenue, around 2:42 AM.

Crews arriving on scene found a carport with multiple vehicles engulfed in flames and began efforts to attack the blaze.

Firefighters quickly snuffed the fire within 30 minutes but not before at least 17 vehicles were completely destroyed. Many more vehicles suffered from damage caused by the fire’s intense flames.

An adjacent apartment building was also charged with smoke, displacing approximately 12 residents as a result.

No injuries were immediately reported and investigators were on scene determining the cause of the fire.
