Huntington Beach: Pedestrian Struck, Killed Crossing Outside Crosswalk

09.23.2022 | 11:30 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street outside of a crosswalk Friday night, police said.

The pedestrian, identified only as a 40-year-old male, was crossing Warner Avenue east of Springdale Street when he was struck by a gray 2015 Acura traveling eastbound around 7:00 PM.

The pedestrian, who was crossing outside of a crosswalk, died at the scene.

The driver of the Acura, a 34-year-old male from Huntington Beach, remained at the scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Impairment did not appear to be a factor in the collision although an investigation is ongoing, authorities added.
