Huntington Beach: Woman Rescued After Jumping Into Riverbed

12.26.2020 | 12:19 AM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A woman who reportedly jumped from a bridge into the Santa Ana River was rescued by firefighters with the help of a good samaritan, early Saturday morning.

Callers reported that a woman jumped from the Hamilton Avenue (Victoria Street) bridge over the Santa Ana River around 12:19 AM.

When units arrived on scene they located a female victim in about six-inches of water being helped by a good samaritan.

The firefighters descended into the river where they secured the woman to a backboard before carrying her out.

She was later transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
