Irvine: Bank of America Robbed, Suspect Quickly Apprehended

06.09.2020 | 3:45 PM | IRVINE – A suspect who robbed a Bank of America was quickly apprehended and found with cash believed to have been stolen in the robbery, Tuesday evening.

Officers responded to reports of a robbery in progress at the Bank of America Financial Center located in the 4500 block of Barranca Parkway around 3:45 PM.

Units arriving on scene learned that a male suspect had entered the bank and demanded cash before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

A perimeter was set-up around the bank and an officers located and detained a suspect who was later arrested after being found in possession of a large wad of cash.

The amount of cash recovered was not immediately available.

No other suspects were believed to be outstanding.
