Irvine: Police Talk Down Man Threatening To Jump From Irvine Spectrum Center Parking Structure

05.26.2022 | 11:00 PM | IRVINE – An irate man who was threatening to jump from an Irvine Spectrum Center parking structure was talked down by police and taken into custody.

Authorities responded to the man threatening to jump from the roof of a parking structure at the Irvine Spectrum Center, located in the 600 block of Spectrum Center Drive, around 11:00 PM.

Police and firefighters joined forces to corral the man in an area where an air cushion had been deployed while negotiators attempted to talk the man down.

At points the man put his legs over the side of the parking structure while yelling at onlookers below.

After nearly two hours the man surrendered to police around 1:20 AM and was taken into custody.
