Irvine: Second-Alarm Fire Burns Racquet Club of Irvine

06.20.2021 | 9:06 PM | IRVINE – A second-alarm fire burned through a building at the Racquet Club of Irvine, Sunday night.

Callers reported seeing smoke near the intersection of Culver Drive and Ethel Coplen Way around 9:06 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story building inside the Racquet Club of Irvine, located at 5 Ethel Coplen Way.

The location of the fire made access difficult but firefighters persevered and were able to extinguish the blaze in about an hour.

No injuries were reported and fire investigators are on scene working to determine the cause of the blaze.
