Irvine: Driver Arrested After Crash Into Fire Hydrant Causes Geyser

10.27.2021 | 2:15 AM | IRVINE – A driver was arrested after crashing into a fire hydrant and causing a geyser that left water pouring down a street, early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Heritage and Baton Rogue in a quiet residential area around 2:15 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a silver sedan that had struck a fire hydrant before coming to rest near a walkway.

A female driver was located nearby and placed into police custody after she was heard screaming, according to neighbors.

Firefighters worked for about 15 minutes to shut off the flow of water to the hydrant.

No injuries from the crash were immediately reported.
