Irvine: Woman Arrested After Car Slams Into Apartment Building

03.04.2022 | 1:02 AM | IRVINE – A woman who resisted arrest was taken into police custody after a crash into an apartment building, early Friday morning.

The crash was reported at the entrance of the Avenue One Apartments, located at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Diploma shortly after 1:00 AM.

When authorities arrived on scene they located a light-colored 2006 Honda CR-V that had collided with the corner of an apartment building.

Two occupants from the vehicle were located nearby, including one man who was transported to a local hospital.

The second occupant, a woman, became aggressive with officers and appeared to resist arrest before being placed in a patrol vehicle.

About a block north of the crash another man was found by police and briefly detained although his involvement in the incident was not immediately known.

Firefighters confirmed the building was structurally sound and had sustained only superficial damage before clearing the scene.

The cause of the crash, including the potential involvement of drugs or alcohol, remain under investigation.
