Newport Beach: Car Bursts Into Flames After Spinning Out

01.15.2019 | 1:49 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – A car burst into flames after spinning out on wet roads and hitting a median, Tuesday afternoon.

Police and fire officials responded to the reported fiery crash on the northbound SR-73 Freeway just north of Bison Avenue around 1:49 PM.

Units arriving on scene found an older-model white Chevrolet Camaro Z28 engulfed in flames.

The vehicle’s solo male driver escaped the vehicle without injury but was shaken up.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle spun-out, striking the center median before bursting into flames.

Roads were slick at the time of the crash and may have played a role in the crash.
