Newport Beach: Pedestrian Killed By Minivan

06.08.2019 | 1:59 AM | NEWPORT BEACH – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a minivan on Pacific Coast Highway, Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian down with good Samaritans providing CPR in the 5900 block of West Coast Highway around 1:59 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a pedestrian on the sidewalk deceased from obvious trauma and a minivan parked nearby with damage consistent with striking a pedestrian.

It was unclear if the driver of the minivan remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

All westbound/northbound lanes of West Coast Highway between Superior Avenue and Prospect Street were closed until further notice while police investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
