Orange: Person Injured After Shooting Near Bar

08.30.2021 | 11:36 PM | ORANGE – A person was injured after an altercation escalated with shots being fired near a bar, late Monday night.

The incident was first reported when an altercation between patrons broke out around 11:36 PM at the Second Base Bar & Grill, located in the 1500 block of West Chapman Avenue.

At some point during the altercation one of the patrons produced a handgun and opened fire on the other individual, striking him in the torso.

The victim was able to flee about a half-block from the bar where he was located by police.

Firefighter paramedics treated the victim on scene before transporting them an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A large crime scene was established between the bar where the incident was initially reported and the bus stop where the victim was located as police investigated.

It was unclear if the shooter was taken into custody or fled prior to the arrival of police.
