Santa Ana: Arson Suspect Arrested After Lighting Truck, Garbage On Fire

12.06.2020 | 10:14 PM | SANTA ANA – A suspected arsonist was in police custody after a series of fires were intentionally lit, Sunday night.

The first dumpster fire was reported in the 300 block of West Dyer Road around 10:14 PM.

While responding to the first fire, firefighters spotted another refuse fire burning in the 2800 block of Main Street.

Both fires were quickly extinguished when a third fire involving a pickup truck broke out in the 2700 block of South Orange Avenue.

When firefighters arrived on scene of the third fire they observed a subject walking away from the scene.

The man was stopped by police and detained on suspicion of lighting the fires.

Fire investigators were on scene investigating and conjunction with Santa Ana police.
