Santa Ana: Firefighters Cut Roof Off Car To Free Trapped Victim

09.03.2021 | 8:32 PM | SANTA ANA – Firefighters had to cut the roof off a vehicle to free a woman who became trapped after a crash, Friday night.

The crash occurred in the 1200 block of East McFadden Avenue, near South Hathaway Street, around 8:30 PM.

When units arrived on scene they located a white Ford Mustang that had collided with a palm tree.

A male from the vehicle was able to free himself from the wreckage but a female was trapped.

Using the Jaws of Life and other power tools, firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle to free the woman.

The rescue took about 30 minutes to complete and both the female and male occupant were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition.

All lanes of East McFadden Avenue were closed between South Standard and Grand avenues while authorities investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
