Santa Ana: Large Police Response Prompted By False Report

08.01.2020 | 1:46 AM | SANTA ANA – A large police response was prompted by reports of a hostage situation that were later determined to be made by an intoxicated woman, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to a female who reported she was inside a home with her father who was threatening to kill her in the 2000 block of South Towner Street around 1:46 AM.

Officers arriving on scene quickly removed the female from the home and determined she was likely under the influence of narcotics.

As a precaution officers surrounded the home and ordered anyone inside to exit.

Nobody responded to the commands and officers later cleared the scene.

The female caller is expected to be charged in connection with the false report.
