Santa Ana: Suspected Gang-Related Shooting Leaves One Dead

09.02.2021 | 5:01 PM | SANTA ANA – A man was killed in a suspected gang-related shooting, Thursday evening.

The shooting was reported in the 1600 block of South Evergreen Street, near East Edinger Avenue, shortly after 5:00 PM.

When units arrived on scene they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

Officers initiated life-saving measures which were taken over by firefighter paramedics as the victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

The man was later pronounced deceased despite the efforts of first responders and an emergency surgery.

Initial reports indicate the shooting is possibly gang-related but the investigation is still underway.

Additional information regarding the identity of the victim was not immediately available.
