02.23.2021 | 8:00 PM | SANTA ANA – A SWAT team raided a home and used gas to detain multiple occupants during a search warrant service, Tuesday night.

The operation unfolded at a home in the 1600 block of West St. Gertrude Place around 8:00 PM.

Teams of officers surrounded the home and ordered the occupants inside to exit.

Some individuals exited the house without incident but others refused to comply.

An hours long standoff ensued before SWAT officers used tear gas to force the remaining occupants to surrender.

At least 10 people were detained during the operation which continued into early Wednesday morning.

The nature of the search warrant or number of arrests made was not immediately available.

Neighbors in the area said they have been suspicious of the home due to its blocked windows, frequent traffic, and new cars parked in front.

Some speculated the home might be the site of illegal gambling or drug sales but none of that information could be confirmed.
