Santa Ana: Two-Car Crash Leaves Victim Trapped

06.21.2021 | 1:59 AM | SANTA ANA – A two-car crash left one person trapped in their vehicle, early Monday morning.

The crash occurred near the intersection of West 1st and South Sullivan streets around 1:59 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a two-car crash involving a silver 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and a silver 2019 Chevrolet Malibu.

The driver of the Malibu was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters using the Jaws of Life and other power tools. She was later transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the Silverado appeared to have suffered injuries but refused transport by firefighter paramedics.

Debris littered eastbound lanes of West 1st Street prompting traffic to be diverted until the scene could be cleared.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led up to the crash and it was too early to tell whether drugs or alcohol might have been involved.
