Trabuco Canyon: One Dead After Car Veers Off Roadway

09.28.2021 | 1:10 AM | TRABUCO CANYON – A teenager was killed when the vehicle they were riding in veered off a canyon road and crashed, early Tuesday morning.

The crash involving a 2007 Honda Fit occurred on Live Oak Canyon Road south of Canyon Creek around 1:10 AM.

Preliminary reports indicate that the Honda was being driven southbound by a 19-year-old female with two teenage male passengers when it veered off the roadway striking two trees and a sign.

The impact of the crash left one of the male passenger, later identified as 19-year-old Christian Garcia Remigio, of Lake Forest, deceased.

The second male passenger along with the female driver both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the cause of the collision is under investigation.

It was unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
