Tustin: Fire Destroys Car Atop Metrolink Parking Structure

06.14.2021 | 2:26 AM | TUSTIN – An apparent electrical issue caused a vehicle to burst into flames, early Monday morning.

The fire was reported atop the Tustin Metrolink parking structure, located in the 2900 block of Edinger Avenue, around 2:26 AM.

When crews arrived on scene they located a white 2005 Acura RSX engulfed in flames with two occupants out of the vehicle.

Firefighters used a fire department connection to the parking structure’s standpipe to douse the blaze in about 15 minutes.

The owner of the vehicle said he turned on the car to listen to music. When he smelled electrical burning he turned the key to off but  the vehicle did not shut off engulfed in flames shortly after.

Luckily the owner of the vehicle and his passenger escaped without injury however the vehicle appeared to be a total loss.
