Tustin: Multi-Vehicle Wreck Stops Leaves One Injured, Freeway Stopped

10.25.2020 | 2:14 AM | TUSTIN – All lanes of the I-5 Freeway were stopped after chain-reaction crash involving as many as nine vehicles left one person hospitalized, early Sunday morning.

The first crash involving three vehicles was first reported on the southbound I-5 Freeway just north of Red Hill Avenue around 2:14 AM.

Before officers arrived at the scene of the first crash a second collision took place increasing the total number of involved vehicles to eight or nine.

At least one person was transported from the scene by firefighter paramedics while another received first aid for a minor cut.

All southbound lanes of the freeway were stopped while authorities worked to investigate the crash and clear debris from the roadway.

Officers are investigating the possibility that at least one driver may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
